hi,i have 500 pounds to play with for a new detector i had my eye on 3 detectors one was the minelab explorer 2 which i was going buy a second hand one for about 400 pounds & a minelab gt second hand about 350 pounds ,or go for the xp gold max power for 525 pounds new with extras & 2 years warranty ,i have seen some realy good field test reports on the gold max power from some top people ,im very impressed ,& also good reports for the gt ,i have seen the field report on the explorer, not good one report said it will take 1 year to learn how to use it & another year to be good with it , so think i will give the explorer a miss 1 down 2 to go i think im realy draw to the gold max power as it is real value for money & quality any hints or tips who owns one would be very welcome, the detector i will chose will only be used on pasture plough & stubble ????im sure i put this subject on the forum before ???? |

You may be wise to wait a while word is out about a new machine to be released just after Christmas. Told last weekend that one of the big names has let it slip.
Another point to look out for is when they start to reduce prices and clear stock it's normally to make way for a new model
