|
|
Hiya,
Having just bought myself a secondhand XLT and trying to configure it to my area and a thought occured, rare I know! My primary site is Roman and has been permanent pasture for at least 50 years. It is deep sand land and is trashy with small nails.
As far as I know it's been fairly well picked over so I'm after the deepest program I can find which excludes these nails.
A little help anyone?

Now then !
my second hand XLT came with a programe called 'Toddys mix' preloaded. On my pasture land its been catching coins at upto 7 inches plus.
Think I've seen the details for this prog on the Whites owners website. Try there and let us know if its as good for you |

Ay Up
That programme isn't on the whites site but I have picked up and programmed in some of the others. I'll have a go tomorrow and let you know how I got on. |

Try and find the 'Toddys' prog mate.
I've been back over areas searched previously using other progs and I've found I missed lots of coins / tokens etc ! |

| I've tried everywhere mate but can't find it. Spent two hours on the net yesterday. The only thing I did find was a site for a shop Northern Metal Dectectors who's reveiwer was called Toddy. There were no programs though. |

Toddys Mix sounds like its mixed mode based so might not be what you want if you want to 'exclude' the nails rather than hear them and ignore by use of the VDI.
Why not just try Relic mode. Maximum Pre Amp. Regain stability with AC sensitivity try 55 or thereabouts. Hot sunny weather needs a further drop of AC, cold you may be able to get higher.
Recovery speed lowered if possible but as you say its trashy you might need to go the other way.
Don't touch DC. The Pre Amp boost has already dealt with that. Raise DC and pinpoint ability goes out the window.
Target response or do they call it audio, to maximum.
Modulation or not ? This is one machine where it seems to make little difference but you could try both.
Silent search on. The only time I use silent search.
Accept down into the minus numbers. On a busy site 20 -22 might be all you need if you don't want to much earbashing.
If its sea/estuary sand it might not work well as its not best where there's much salt. Also everyone with a 6.59 frequency detector will wipe you out so you can't try it at a Rally. Its a works very well or not at all well choice. Does well where I am so its what I try first. |

| Thanks for that Brian. I'll have a go in a minute. It's not sea sand it's in the middle of lincolnshire so I reckon I should get on quite well, providing there's anything there worth finding that is! |
