Which machine do people think is deeper - the XLT or 5900 for general coinshooting and relics in average ground? I'd love to see a head-to-head field test between these two - always wondered which is the hotter...

The 5900/Di Pro SL I found to be a little deeper than the more expensive 6000 model.
Relic wise I think you would do better with the 5900. For general hunting I would give the edge to the XLT due to the sheer range of adjustments that can be made, but then its a two edged sword. The more adjustments you can make the greater chance of mucking them up. But if you have a range of coils especially odder ones like the Bigfoot coil then the XLT has the ability to get more out of them.
I think the ability to adjust recovery speed, set tone to suit your own hearing requirements, boost target response gives the programmable machines a real edge over machines with few adjustments but if your not going to use the features its easier to get more performance out of the older style analog detectors. |
