| I am just watching it for a second time, clearly both sides have an agenda, but I do think that they each did have an equal say. The detectorists did give a fair and clear argument from their point of view. But clearly the archi's where not interested in the general areas as indicated by the detectorists, we do it our way thank you very much. The more I hear about the DCMS the more I don't like their unfair practise of favouring the museums budgets. |

I didnt like some of the faces that baldrick pulled when he talked about metal detectorists and you could tell the archeologists looked down on the metal detectorests even though they had compiled a whole mass of detailed information on the site with out spending a £70,000 budget! they had even mapped out a plan of a boat from the iron nails they had found and i didnt see any info compiled by the archies
they did also seen to spend a lot of the show going on about how secret it all was
finally why doesnt time team team up with the detectorists and dig the site again?

Liked the bit where the 'ologists had carefully dug a trench across the ditch and found nothing of interest. Then the detector chappie scanned the spoil to make a couple of nice find.
I thought at the beginning that the program was really having a pop against detectors, but I reckon it balanced out well at the end. The big item in the detectorists favour was the superb details and records they had kept. Looked pretty good when balanced against the £70,000 dig. |

I think the show should maybe have also included a bit more about what the land owners had to gain too so maybe more farmers would give permission
also 5k was a poor evaluation for the finds |
