Hi Dauphin!
Very interesting coins! Starting from the 3rd one.
This is a bronze double centenionalis of the Emperor Magentius. The obverse reads DN (Dominus Noster - Our Lord) MAGNEN-TIUS PF (Pius Felix - Pious and Favoured) AVG (Augustus).
Reverse is GLORIA ROMANORVM (The glory of the Romans), with Roman cavalryman slaying enemy foot soldier. Mint TAP (Trier, Germania)
A very nice coin and one that you shouldnt sell for less than £40!
The first seems to be an Antoninius of Victorinus, with a PAX AVG reverse, but with an S inplace of the X.
The second I will have to research a bit more! |

Sure. The Magnentius coin was struck between 350 and 351AD.
The Victorinus between 269 and 270 AD. This coin is probably from Trier too.
Did you find these yourself? If so, nice finds! |

I have only been detecting for 2 months and I have found a Villa in my village. It appears from the aerial photos to have 2 wings and a corridor connecting the 2. What is also interesting is that there is an enclosure which goes around the building. It is positioned in a very good position on a hill.
I have found other things and lots of lead which is weird. ( i only visited the site today for the forst time and spent 4 hours there) |
