Hi there
Can anyone let me know who you need to speak to in order to get permission to search river banks. Who are the landowners? If it is an Angling club's water for instance, do they own it themselves or does the farmer whose land runs into it?
Any help would bve greatly appreciated as I am surrounded by rivers in my area and want to search them.
Thanks folks |

| I would think they are part of the farmers land judging by what you said, in any case I am sure he will put you right if that's not the case. |

It varies, it can be one or the other. The best people to ask would be your local Internal Drainage Board (IDB)
I am an engineer for an IDB, and we get this question quite often.
Hope this helps. |
