hello all

today i saw the environment agency working with a big digger to widen a river near me.
they had scraped about a foot in depth off of the bank and seeing how tomorrow it would be part of the river i thought it rude not to detect this dug out bank and the spoil.
my five and six year old done the spoil(with eyes) and found a big cow bell and a cap badge with the pin still on.
i detected the bank and found three 1700s coins and a 1907 at the same depth. plus some other bits, even a ring pull which must have been 18" down originally!
