how do i know how to Identify a find to me it looks like a piece of scrap lead but my wife say after looking at celtic blanks on www.writer2001.com it looks like one of those is their a way to tell silver for a beginner

Lead is a heavy, soft metal and will be grey or white. If recently damaged it will be shiny in the damage. Silver is lighter and will either be silver or black. If in doubt post a picture on here so we can see it.

I´ve got a piece of what I think is lead (White), but it´s very hard and heavy, slightly wedge shaped, and has some markings on it on one side, but only about 1" long by 1/2" wide, and 1/8" thick.
