| i just got my first machine and want to know are there any clubs in the north west area ive tried the links off the forums but they all seem dead.i live near ormskirk thanks for any help |

 hello christy611,welcome to the forum ,im not all that far from you standish nr wigan,me and my detecting buddy have done a bit of detecting in ormskirk ,we have a large farmed area of detecting permission in ormskirk ,only been there 3-4 times tho ,just before Christmas, will be heading back for a another go soon as the crops are in .ask for detecting clubs,we are not in a club just yet,but have been considering joining one ,there is a club in Blackpool fylde which is the closest to you i think ,iv been trying to get the web link on for you but cannot get it to work,?just type in Blackpool fylde metal detecting club,and have a look,? good luck |

| yes im just starting ive got a garrett ace 250 for now to get me going and ive been on to the blackpool club and they are still up and running ,now ill wait for my mate to get his machine and see what happens |

Hi
I'm pretty new to metal detecting also, I've just purchased a MineLab Explorer II. I'm also from the North West, wherea bouts are you from?
I'm off to a rally tomorrow so I'll post let you know what I find! |

We didn't find a great deal, there was one hammered coin found and one or two roman things.
I found a roman weight amongst the rubbish, my best find was probably this Geroge III 1806 Half Penny
