UK METAL DETECTING

Hi all

I've already had three "no's" from farmers, I've not spoken to any in person, these were via family/friends contacts.

I've been doing metal detecting for two months now, I've got a real bug for it. I'm out on a rally at the end of June, but I want to get my monies worth, after paying for my Minelab Explorer II.

What's thet best advice/method I can use when approaching farmers?

Hi atky

I like you have only been metal detecting for a couple of months.
I have at the moment got 2 farms that i can use.
And what worked for me was to go to the farmer or farmers in person and ask them face to face, that way you can explain what you want to do. And they get to see who they will be letting on there land. Not many farmers will let you on there land if they have not met you face to face.
So give that a try. And be open with them get straight to the point, and tell them what you want to do.
That was the advise i was given and so far it as worked for me.
Don't be scared to ask these farmers. You don't get if you don't ask. Hope this will help you.
