Hello,
I am looking for any info on the cs3mx, and its hard to find. I wonder if anyone used this detector. I am interested because is looks compact and the higher khz 17.
would it match a compass detector on hammered coins??
Thanks for answers.....
Eric. |

Andy is the one to speak to re the 3MX. It should be a bit deeper than your Compass (unless you have a X100/X200 Challenger) but whether its quite as good in heavy iron?
He should be on the forum in a day or two. If not I'll contact him for you as its an interesting question. |

Hi Brian,
normally we speak to eachother on the pm box of the findmall forum remember?
I think it is the Andy that you have in mind, that sent me a pm yesterday. He stated that it is a good one. I am going to sell my compass coinscanner and get me a cs3mx. I already know that i will miss the compass. But my wife ha? I bought too many detectors recently so a few have to go. I also want to add a cs4pi later and try to pick up some beach detecting.
Other info on the cs3mx is MORE than welcome.
Thanks, Eric. |

| didnt suit me purley because of the very high signal tone... sensitive and good for the money but abit flimsy where the box mounts on the stem...remember to keep hold of th ebox when u unplug ur headphones or it will end up on the floor |

Both machines punch outside their price range but don't seem to be getting the sales (fashion again I suppose).
A CS 4Pi was up on E-Bay the other day at a 'buy it now' price of £150 and it looked in great condition and they have only been out perhaps a couple of years. Instead of going for it there was mass bidding for a CS 6Pi that was going up to the £250 mark and that machine could have been ten years old. Weird! |

Yes Brian,
i noticed that cs4pi on Ebay... should have bought that one! It looked new!
I regret that already. Yes it has to do with fashion i guess. But for me it looks great.
I am curious about them.
Thanks to all for your answers..... |

| I was flicking thru the English detecting mags last year and thinking the CS4Pi looks like a great buy , I have a couple of English mates over here in the states who talk about the C scopes they owned and used in England with fond memories like they are talking about their first girl friends. So what other Pi machine on the US market would you compare the level of performance of the CS4Pi to ? I was going to pm Brian this question but I thought it would be a good free for all question. |

Your getting buried in replies Gary but it might be because you said "on the U.S." market.
I think with the older machines (I loved my old Groundhog) its part rosetinted glasses. They remember not having to worry about bottlecaps, sweep speed etc and forget the non motion problems of lifftyness, manual tuning, threshold drift etc.
To return to P.I.'s I've used or owned 26 different models and I doubt if anyone will say they had fond memories of the older P.I.'s which is one field that has really advanced over the years even before a true discriminating model comes to the market. |
